FRUIT / BERRY: Tomato, “Alpha” variety

PRODUCT: Boron (foliar application)

YEAR:  2023

COUNTRY: Kazakhstan

APPLICATION:

  1. Control. NPK background.
  2. Background NPK + Boron. Foliar application: 1st - 10 days after planting seedlings, then 2 times with an interval of 14 days, product consumption - 0.5 kg/ha, working solution consumption - 300 l/ha.
  3. Background NPK + Boron. Foliar application: 1st - 10 days after planting seedlings, then 2 times with an interval of 14 days, product consumption - 1.5 kg/ha, working solution consumption - 300 l/ha.
  4. Background NPK + Boron. Foliar application: 1st - 10 days after planting seedlings, then 2 times with an interval of 14 days, product consumption - 3.0 kg/ha, working solution consumption - 300 l/ha.

Trial plots area – 20 m², observed plots area – 10 m². Trial repetitiveness — four times.

RESULT:

  1. Yield increase compared to control with NPK background: 3.95-10.73%.
  2. The yield increase resulted from improvements in yield structure: the number of clusters with fruits per plant increased by 1.1-3.2%, and fruit mass increased by 0.8-3.1%.
  3. Quality indicators improved: total sugar content and dry matter content increased by 0.1-0.3% (in absolute values), overall acidity decreased by 0.02-0.4% (in absolute values), and vitamin C content increased by 0.2-0.5 mg%.
  4. The maximum result was achieved with a triple application at a 3.0 kg/ha dose.
  5. All yield increases exceeded the experimental error and were statistically significant.
